Injection mold process conditions:

❀ Drying treatment: Drying treatment before processing is a must. The humidity must be less than 0.04%.

 Recommended drying conditions are:

The drying temperature is 70~75℃, 4-6 hours, pay attention to the drying temperature should not exceed 75℃.

     Screw temperature: 220~250℃.

The drying temperature is 60~65℃, 4-6 hours, pay attention to the drying temperature should not exceed 65℃.

     Screw temperature: 220~290℃.

 ❀ Mold temperature: 10~40℃, 25℃ is recommended.

 ❀ Injection pressure: 300~1300bar.

❀ Injection speed: A higher injection speed can be used without causing embrittlement.

❀ Chemical and physical properties: PETG is a transparent, amorphous material. The glass transition temperature is 88C. The permissible range of injection molding process conditions of PETG is wider than that of PET, and it has the comprehensive characteristics of transparency, high strength and high willfulness.

PETG application range

PETG is a new series of transparent engineering plastics. The properties of PETG can be summarized as: it has good transparency, hardness, chemical resistance, and stress whitening resistance. Light transmittance of 91%, to achieve the transparency of plexiglass, impact toughness is very good close to or even more than polycarbonate. Suitable for injection molding, extrusion, extrusion and blowing processing. PETG applications: cosmetic packaging containers, medical packaging and medical transparent accessories, toothbrushes and personal care products, pens and stationery, household appliances and small household appliances transparent parts, toys, daily necessities, lighting, blow molding, transparent pipes and profiles, films, sheets, plates and other fields. PETG is an amorphous copolymer. With the increase of CHDM in the copolymer, the melting point decreases, the glass transition temperature increases, and the crystallinity decreases, and then the amorphous polymer is formed. PETG is briefly a transparent plastic, is an amorphous copolyester, PETG commonly used copolymer monomer is 1, 4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), the full name of polyethylene terephthalate -1, 4-cyclohexanedimethanol ester. It is the product of terephthalic acid (TPA), ethylene glycol (EG) and 1, 4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) three monomers by transesterification. Compared with PET, there are more 1, 4-cyclohexanedimethanol co-monomers than PCT, so there are more glycol co-monomers. The performance of PETG is very different from that of PET and PCT. With its uniqueness, at present, only Eastman in the United States and SK in South Korea are two companies with mature technology.

Generally, the content of CHDM in PETG is 30%-40%. It has good viscosity, transparency, color, chemical resistance, and stress whitening resistance. It can be quickly thermoformed or extruded blow molded. Better viscosity than acrylic (acrylic). Its products are highly transparent, excellent impact resistance, especially suitable for forming thick wall transparent products, its processing performance is good, can be designed according to the designer's intention of any shape, can use traditional extrusion, injection molding, blow molding and blister molding methods, can be widely used in sheet metal, high-performance shrink film, bottle and profile and other markets. At the same time, the secondary processing performance is excellent, and can be conventional machining modification.
