The PE wood-plastic composite sheet is a kind of composite material sheet made by combining polyethylene (PE), wood fibers (or plant fibers) and high molecular materials through a co-extrusion process. It has the texture of wood and the properties of plastic, and is widely used in fields such as construction, decoration, and outdoor facilities.

·Material composition and process

Material composition:

① Base layer: PE resin (such as HDPE, LDPE) is mixed with wood fibers (such as bamboo powder, wood powder, etc.), and additives such as coupling agents, stabilizers, and lubricants are added to enhance the interfacial compatibility.

Coupling agent ML-140: Coupling agent ML-140 plays a crucial functional role as a additive in PE wood-plastic co-extruded sheets, mainly used to improve the interfacial compatibility between wood fibers and PE resin, and solve the problem of insufficient bonding force caused by the excessive polarity difference between these two materials. Adding coupling agent ML-140 can optimize mechanical properties and enhance tensile and bending strength.

Stabilizer SG61: Calcium-zinc stabilizer SG61 can be used to address issues related to PE resin thermal oxidation degradation, wood fiber thermal decomposition, and stability during the processing, and SG61 can effectively inhibit PE resin's thermal oxidation degradation and delay the PE thermal aging process.

PE wood-plastic lubricant: PE wood-plastic lubricant in co-extruded sheets can regulate melt flowability, optimize processing performance, and the effect of PE wood-plastic lubricant runs through the entire process from raw material mixing, extrusion molding to final product performance optimization.

② Co-extrusion layer: Usually made of PE modified materials (such as adding ASA, PMMA, PVC, etc. which are weather-resistant polymers), or functional coatings (such as UV-resistant, antibacterial, wear-resistant layers), covering the surface of the base material.

Color Toner: The color toner in the PE wood-plastic co-extrusion sheet can give the material color, regulate the appearance texture and affect some properties. The color toner not only can decorate the wood-plastic sheet, but also can give the sheet the final weather resistance, processing stability and differentiated design of the product.

The PE wood-plastic co-extrusion board achieves a balance among performance, environmental protection and cost through a "substrate-co-extrusion layer" composite design. It is particularly suitable for scenarios with high requirements for weather resistance and aesthetics. The PE wood-plastic co-extrusion material focuses on combining the natural texture with the advantages of polymer materials, becoming a typical representative in the field of environmentally friendly building materials.
